报告题目：Generic Nature of Convex Functions with Strong Minimizers and Constructions of c-splitting Potentials

报告摘要：

  Using Moreau envelopes, we define acomplete metric for the set of proper lower semicontinuous convex functions ina finite-dimensional space.

Under this metric, the convergence of each sequenceof convex functions is epi-convergence.

We show that the set of strongly convex functionsis dense but it is only of the first category. On the other hand, it is shownthat the set of convex functions with strong minima is of the second category.We will also discuss multimarginal optimal transport, and show how to useRockafellar's antiderivative to construct c-splitting potentials.

个人简介：

   Shawn Xianfu Wang（王宪福），加拿大哥伦比亚大学（（UBC Okanagan）数学系终身教授, 博士生导师。1986年本科毕业于兰州大学并获学士学位，1999年研究生毕业于加拿大西蒙弗雷泽大学（Simon Fraser University）并获博士学位，曾先后在加拿大卡普顿大学（CapeBreton University）、奥提根大学（Okanagan University College）、哥伦比亚大学任助教、副教授、教授等职。王教授主要从事变分分析、非光滑分析、凸分析与优化等研究，先后主持了加拿大国家研究项目等近20项，在《Mathematical Programming》、《SIAM Journal of Optimization》、《SIAM Journalof Control and Optimization》、《Numerical Algorithms》、《Transactions of The Americal Mathematical Society》等重要刊物上发表论文60余篇，担任《Communications in MathematicalAnalysis》、《Abstract and Applied Analysis》 等期刊副主编（编委）。2013年曾作为巴渝海外引智计划专家访问我校，在“最优化与控制”省部共建教育部重点实验室，围绕B.S. Mordukhovich教授的《Variational Analysisand Generalized Differentiation》（《变分分析与广义微分》）专著，给来自全国各地20所长期合作高校的专家、青年教师和研究生进行全英文授课。
